Know when to call time.

Gambling should never take priority over your bills, relationships or health. If it is causing harm, you do not need to handle it alone.

Free, confidential support

The South African Responsible Gambling Foundation offers a 24-hour counselling line.

Make limits concrete

Set a spending limit before you begin and a time to stop. Keep gambling funds separate from rent, food, transport and other essentials. Never borrow to play or try to win back a loss. All visitors must be 18 or older.

Signs to take seriously

Hiding spending, chasing losses, missing obligations or feeling unable to stop are reasons to take a break and ask for support. Friends and family can also contact the counselling line.

Take a break or self-exclude

Use the operator's responsible gambling controls or contact its support team about a break and self-exclusion. Ask how restrictions apply across accounts. Remove saved payment methods and promotional notifications if they make stopping harder. A counsellor can help you choose practical next steps.
